hope

I learned hope as an act of desperation
I learned courage as on act of defiance.
Banged on the cages of fear like a chained dog.
But I remain relentless even as a pea in this pod
In every version that I encounter I hope to be free one day
I hope to be free but i know i'll never be
Maybe for now my dreams will be the key
I will be able to jump freely, and immerse myself in my emotions
I am light the sun reaches out for me
May I be seated then till my caramel is golden
Till then I remain an afterthought, replaying a single moment;
hoping that would be a replica of the abyss of what could have been between us.
And In the days my heart wants for you, my soul
denies it. Because love should not hurt that bad.
I'm drinking poison off this cup,
Hoping there will be an antidote at the end,
I need a reward, I need resolution.
